About almond butter
Almond butter/cream is a good source of healthy monounsaturated fat that our bodies require. These fats are associated with lowering the risk of heart disease. Studies show that those who eat nuts (or nut butters/creams!) regularly, do not tend to gain weight despite relatively high intake of calories. Perhaps stable blood sugar and a diet based on proteins rather than carbs is the reason.
Why do we need almond butter?
Almond butter/cream is a source of vegetable protein. 2 tablespoons of nut butter contain about 7 grams of protein, which is the main building block of the muscle. Nut butter is rich in amino acids, which allows to provide oxygen and nutrients to the muscles. Almonds are an excellent source of vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties, slows down the aging process and promotes tissue regeneration.
